From a civilian collection in Colorado comes this pristine early Beretta 92FS pistol. Manufacturer was Pietro Beretta s.r.l. of Gardone, Italy, and so marked. From its E58000, Z suffix serial number, it was manufactured in 1991. Beretta product number was PO9219F, ancestor to current production J92F300M. Type is 92 Series, traditional double and single action locked breech semi automatic centerfire pistol. Construction is steel barrel, slide, and working parts fitted into a 7075 lightweight alloy frame. Barrel is 5 inch Government size. Bore is chrome lined, with six groove rifling and 1:9.84 twist rate. Sights are slide integral dot front with dovetailed center dot rear. Chambering, of course, is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, 9mm NATO, call it what you will, THE 9mm. This 92FS comes with both of its original issue 1991 production 15 round Italian made magazines, so fully loaded capacity is 15+1. Trigger is .360 smooth faced, with .305 commander style serrated hammer. Double action trigger pull is 11 pounds vicinity over a 1 1/8 inch cycling distance. Single action trigger pull is 1/2 inch two stage, 5 1/4 pounds with minimal felt creep and overtravel. Safety system consists of an internal firing pin safety to guard against accidental discharge if the pistol is dropped, together with a slide mounted ambidextrous main safety that functions as a decocker. The 92FS does Not have any magazine safety; that is, it will fire single shot with no magazine at all. Extreme overall length is 8 5/8 inches from the muzzle to the grip frame strut. Grip frame is serrated fore and aft, 1.03 thick and tapering to .73 at the front of the frame. Slide is serrated rear, 1.15 thick. Trigger guard is type two serrated face. Grips are period correct Michaels #9501, 1990s Rubber Replacement. Weight empty is 33.8 ounces, about 40 ounces loaded. Finish is semi gloss black Brunitron barrel, trigger, levers, hammer, and slide; with matching matte black anodized frame. Surface detractions are minimal, only operation slide contact wear on the barrel surface. We rate it as Excellent, 90 to 95 percent vicinity by our estimate.
