Excellent bore and mechanics - barrel and receiver retain 99% original blue - brass rotor - buttplate has 90% thinning blue with one small area of rust at heel of buttplate - lever has 95% bright case color. Except as noted on buttplate, metal is excellent with no rust or pitting. Original rear sight has been replaced with a blank and a proper period Lyman tang sight has been added - receiver is factory tapped for a scope mount. Wood has 99% original finish and sharp, undamaged checkering - one small, shallow crack is apparent on upper right side at tang that is sound and appears to be a grain crack and not damage .- wood has a very few minor scuffs from normal handling. - proper Savage swivel eyes in buttstock and forend.
