In 1929, Walther introduced a new pistol which would take the world by storm, and which, to this day, influences pistol design. The new pistol was called the "Polizei Pistole," or "Police Pistol," commonly referred to as the "PP." Pre-1945 PP's bore one of two sets of proof marks. The first were the proof marks in use in Germany between April, 1893 and April, 1940. These consisted of a crown over the letter N (for Nitro or smokeless powder). The other proof marks were the Nazi commercial proofs, put into effect in April, 1940 until the end of the war. This specimen displays the Nazi Eagle/N proof-marks on the right side of the slide and barrel. The absence of any military acceptance stamps ("Waffenamt Stempeln") or police acceptance markings indicates that this was a commercial issue pistol. In excellent overall condition, showing only minor factory bluing fade on the front and rear straps, high edges on the slide and close to the barrel. Action is Swiss-watch tight and excellent. The red dot under the safety lever is still very strong and especially attractive. The markings are clear and sharp and so are the serial numbers on the pistol. Magazine is aftermarket. The original Bakelite grips with Walther-Banner are also in excellent condition. Complimentary hard case included. A very high-quality Nazi WWII era Walther PP. We do not charge credit card fees.
