Serial 1614161 has a 26-inch solid rib barrel with double beads and fixed skeet choke. ENGRAVING: Receiver right is highlighted by a rising pheasant in gold relief and the inverse captures a pointer locked down on a hidden bird. In turn, each is surrounded by an intricate field of leafy vine double-bordered by gold wire. The pattern continues over the top of the receiver, flows over the guard and graces the muzzle. Serial numbers and the alignment arrow are also accented in gold. Cargnel's signature appears below the pointer. The bolt and lifter showcase fine jeweling. STOCK: Generous fields of 26 lines-per-inch checkering highlighted by ribbons and fleurs wrap around the forearm and grip. The wood itself is clearly exhibition grade and shows outstanding end-to-end flaring flgure. Heel and toe clips bracket a field of checkering so exact that it is nearly impossible to resolve the seam of the access panel. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.4 pounds. Length-of-pull is 14.25 inches, drops are 1.5 and 2.5 inches, and cast off is approximately .25-inch. CONDITION: The bore is strong and bright. Mechanics are properly tight. Metal finish (rust blue) is over 90 percent, the adjustment owing to a modest distribution of minor and superficial freckles on the barrel, receiver corners and clips.
