Description:
Springfield Armory M1 Garand serial number 19857xx, manufactured October 1943. SA 9-43 barrel with a bright bore. This is a 1964 SA rebuild, including refinish of all parts, apparently never used afterward. This rifle is in excellent used condition. All parts are described below and shown in photos. No import marks.
This M1 has been test fired, cycling through a full clip with no issues, ejecting the clip at the end.
Two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo), sling and canvas bandolier are included.

SA M1 sn 19857xx Specs:
-Receiver: marked “D 28291 30” on leg, heat lot B11D<>. Also hand engraved “SA 4-64”, indicating the 1964 rebuild. Excellent condition, no pitting.
· Barrel: marked “3-S-A-9-43” in op rod slot, “D35448-27-Y-27-A” on top, with “M”, small stars and eagle and misc other marks. Bore is bright, crown has some small dents on the outside but the inner cone that affects accuracy is intact.
· Barrel Gauge Measurements: MW(muzzle wear): 1 ½, TE(throat erosion): 3
· Lower band: two-piece flat top, roll pin
· Clip latch: late square front type, unmarked
· Op rod: flat side, marked “D35382 9 SA”, modified. Op rod and bolt cycle freely by tilting when everything is assembled except main spring and hammer (Garands with binding or rubbing op rods tend to have feeding and/or ejecting problems).
· Op rod catch: late type, unmarked
· Bullet guide: stamped with notch
· Follower: late type, marked “13”
· Follower arm: no bevel
· Follower rod: long fork, riveted
· Bolt: marked “D28287-12 S-B7<>”
· Rear sight base: late SA type, unmarked
· Sight knobs: T105 postwar type, elevation marked “HRA”, windage “WRIGHT”
· Rear sight cover: late type with ribs
· Rear sight aperture: double track, unmarked
· Trigger housing: marked “D28290-12-SA” Small pad, cloverleaf hole
· Trigger guard: stamped with stamped hook
· Trigger: late type, no extra hole
· Hammer: marked “C46008-5 SA”
· Hammer spring plunger: late type without wings
· Safety: round top, marked “C46015-6SA”
· Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring, punch mark and “C” on bayonet lug. GC group finish VG.
· Front sight: 0.65 wide, unmarked.
· Gas cylinder lock: beveled front type, unmarked
· Gas cylinder screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “P” and “O”
· Stock: walnut, looks like armory replacement, circled “P” on pistol grip, stamped “62” near buttplate, also has what appears to resemble a German symbol near the front ferrule (see photos). There has been a stick-on label on the pistol grip cap. Armory glass bedded on lower trigger housing surfaces. No cracks, far less than average dings/scratches, very nice appearance.
· Handguards: walnut, same condition and appearance as stock.
· Buttplate: appears to be WWII SA type, good condition with finish wear
· Sling: used, common web type
