The Md.48 is an improved version of the WWII German 98K Mauser. These Yugoslavian manufactured Mauser rifles were some of the best quality Mauser rifles ever produced. The M48 Mauser was used by the Yugoslavian military as well as being shipped to Cold War world hot spots around the world. This rifle has all milled parts not like the later produced Yugoslavian Md48-A Mauser that had many stamped parts. All serial numbers are stamped matching: bolt, stock, receiver, floor plate(the floor plate and stock are forced matched). Metal blue is 90+%. Stock/hand guard have no cracks. Bore is in excellent condition: bright with sharp lands and no pitting. Rifle has a clear/sharp Crest of Yugoslavia stamped on the top of the receiver. The Md. 48 Mauser is known for its accuracy. This Md. 48 would be a excellent shooter or an addition to your collection. There is very tiny import mark on the muzzle end of the barrel. This rifle was purchased by a collector in 2002 never fired and put away in his collection. Comes with original importer box. Rifles of this quality are no longer being imported.
