The A.H. Fox C Grade guns are considered by many to be the most attractively finished Fox guns made. There are higher grades with prettier wood and checkering, but the C Grade engraving is very tastefully executed. This is a rare gun, as they only produced 305 C Grade Fox guns in 16ga., only 202 Philly made guns, and likely less than 30 with the straight hand stock. This fine Philly Fox, sn301938, was made in 1924 during the heyday of Fox smallbores. This Fox has been beautifully restocked with finely figured English walnut showing perfect Philly Fox shape, checkering, and dimensions. The hand rubbed oil finish is done to perfection. For the shooter that loves gorgeous wood and English style stocks, this is a real find! The Fox C Grade action and barrels are known for flawless function and great hand engraving. Add the Doug Turnbull case colors and near new condition and you have a very desirable, gorgeous Fox. This gun is a SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT Fox weighing 5lbs. 10oz. with its 28" number 4 weight barrels (choked SK/LM) and balances just 1/8" ahead of the hinge pin. With 14 1/4" LOP, 2 1/2" DAH, 1 5/8" DAC, and 3/16" cast off this gun will fit a lot of shooters. If you need longer LOP, we can add a Silvers pad, or a pad of your choice to get up to 15" LOP.
