The barrel was turned from a 30 inch Shilen Number 5 contour medium heavy blank which was threaded and shouldered to fit the receiver, cut to 25 inches (to precisely meet the powder burning characteristics of the 7 mm Magnum round) with an 11 degree recessed crown. Prior to installing the barrel, the receiver threads and shoulder were trued to achieve optimum barrel and receiver alignment. The 7 mm Magnum chamber was cut and headspaced, and the bolt lugs were lapped to insure equal pressure on each lug. The barreled action was parkerized and Military Powder Coating applied to the barrel. The barreled action was then installed into an H-S Precision kevlar reinforced fiberglass stock containing a 5056 aluminum bedding block extending from the front sling swivel through the pistol grip, and glass bedded with Marine-Tex, a heavy duty structural epoxy known for its superior Compression, Adhesion and Tensile strengths. The trigger was optimized for pull weight, length of travel and overtravel. This rifle is equipped with a Leupold Vari-X III 4.5 to 14 power scope featuring a 50 mm adjustable parallax objective lens and a duplex reticle; mounted with Leupold mounts and rings. This rifle is unfired except for final barrel lapping which was accomplished by firing 20 rounds with a thorough cleaning of the barrel between each round.
