Type is metal frame, hammer fired double action only compact semi automatic pistol. Chambering is 9mm. Construction is steel barrel, slide, trigger, hammer, levers, magazine body, and internal parts built into a lightweight alloy frame with one piece polymer grip. Barrel is 3 1/2 inch one piece stainless, distinctive ball joint construction that produced outstanding accuracy in their predecessor 469 and 669 series. Bore is 5 groove right hand 1:18.75 rifling. Slide is serrated rear with pressed in bushing and with full length guide rod. Sights are Novak type 3 dot combat, dovetailed front and rear with a 5 1/2 inch radius. Hammer is .260 factory bobbed, with .304 smooth combat trigger that pulls double action 11 pound vicinity with 1 inch of travel, with minimal felt creep and overtravel. Trigger guard is cleat serrated square faced first type, and serrated grip frame front strap. Magazine furnished will be a standard 12 round factory or new Mec-Gar, 12 + 1 fully loaded capacity. 6900 series pistols like this one will accept full sized 5900 magazines, and we even offer 15 and 17 rounders with an attractive and ergonomic grip adapter. Magazine release is gunsmith reversable. Grip is factory one piece with stylized checkered surfaces. Overall length is 7 inches from muzzle to grip frame strut, 5 1/4 inch height. Weight empty is 27 ounces, with center of gravity at the magazine release. Finish is matte surface stainless slide assembly and levers, matte black sights, and satin nickel plated trigger and hammer. Grip is factory one piece. This pistol comes from Air Force associated duty in the Caribbean. Production date was 1992. Slide has been retouched, close to factory S&W Streaked stainless type. Frame is recoated stainless shade gray epoxy base. Surface detractions are minimal, principally residual wear to the grip. We rate this pistol as Very Good, close to Excellent, retouched finish, 85 to 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
