This type of sword pistol became affectionately known as the Pirate Captains sword, as it was favored by pirates including, supposedly Captain Bartholomew Roberts. The strait sawback blade has 2 deep narrow fullers. The fuller adjacent to the spine and the saw teeth run from the ricaso to the beginning of the false edge. The second fuller runs to within about .5 inch from the point. All iron mountings with classic shell counter guard. The barrel pan and fizen are mounted to the ricaso. The pan is attached in front by the fizen screw and in back it swivels on a rivet. Remove the fizen to lift the pan and unscrew the barrel screws for easy cleaning. The cock assembly tumbler main spring and trigger seer are mounted to the tang within the grip. The end of the tang is threaded. Simply unscrew the tang button to disassemble the hilt. All original parts are present. But the tumbler is broken in half. The main spring also appears to have been broken and a piece is missing. The grip is one piece carved horn. All fits together tightly. 30 inches overall length with a 24.5 inch blade and 3.5 inch 45 caliber iron barrel. Condition: Used - See Item Description Caliber: (Other Ammo?)
