Description: Here is one of the earliest Tauruses to come into the country. Manufacturer was Forjas Taurus S.A. or Porto Allegre, Brazil. Importer was Firearms International Corp. of Washington DC, and it is so marked. From its 432000 range serial number, we estimate it was manufactured in 1969, FI’s final year before Garcia importation of Tauruses. Type is double and single action revolver with transfer bar internal safety device. Frame is 5 screw construction, 4 screws on the side plate and one in front of the trigger guard. Construction is all steel, with original factory polymer magna type service grips. Barrel is 2 1/2 inch tapered type, 1:18.75 six groove right hand rifling, pinned into the frame. Sights are barrel integral ramp type blade front with windage and frame integral fixed notch rear, with top serrations. Cylinder capacity is 6 rounds of .38 Special standard or +P ammunition, with rough serration cylinder fluting. Trigger is .250 serrated face service type case colored, with matching serrated spur hammer. Ignition is via hammer nose firing pin. Finish is nickel. This revolver comes to us from a New England collection, where it probably served with a private security agency. Surface detractions are moderate, as the photos show, with wear indications on the upper frame edge, trigger guard, and muzzle; and with some weakness to the side plate and grip frame finish. We rate it as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity finishwise by our estimate; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. We do not believe it was actually fired more than 200 times. It is hitchy closing the cylinder, and draggy on one position in single action. Bore, cylinder chambers and mechanism are all bright and clean. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is minimal, an etchy line with no depth. Hammer travels an additional 10 degrees on all six positions in double action after the cylinder times, and 25 degrees on single action. Single action trigger pull measures a stiff but crisp original 5 pounds. Lateral play to the cylinder is minimal. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap measures a wider than average .017. We consider this to be an eminently collectable early Taurus. Own the FI Import Nixon Era Taurus in the photos for only $ 289.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, the District of Colombia, or Massachusetts.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
