The "b"series serial number indicates mfg after 1945, by the Spreewerk factory in occupied Hradek nad Nisou (formerly Grottau), Bohemia, Czechoslovakia. There is a proof, referred to as the "asterick" [star with a hole in center] one author refers to as an "SS" inspectors mark in concentration camps where weapons were maintained & produced [Marschall p.58]. This P38, comes with 2 original Spreewerke mags. [one marked "P38" & both with eagle over WaA708- Czech mfg. for Spreewerke] Spreewerke did not number the mags. The chamber and the interior of the pistol show very minor movement use- no scratching of the slide movement etc. The exterior milling marks (a signature characteristic common to Spreewerk P38s) are visible which evidences that his pistol is original in finish- has not been buffed out for reblue. There is nothing inside or outside this firearm suggesting that it has been put to much use. It looks "like new". The barrel is bright with strong lands. All of the numbers match.The exposed forward edge of the barrel has the matching serial number as does the interior barrel slide ["113" plus "b"] There are eagle over 88 proof marks [Spreewerke] and Waffenamt military [Nazi] inspection marks everywhere you look- inside and out. There is no rust anywhere inside or out. The black/brown Bakelite grips are 98% and carry the Materials Test Agency Berlin-Dahlem "MD" logo on the interior. There is no holster wear or rust. No import mark. PAYMENT OPTIONS- For immediate shipment I only accept USPS money orders.
