Parker, sn234592, 1930, 12GA, 7lbs. 13oz., Choke IM
The single barrel trap guns (SBT) have come on strong with collector/shooter interest in the last 5 years. Parker built about 1900 SBT guns in all grades, with most being the entry level SC grade (still a Grade 4 Parker!) with 1779 SC Grade SBT's produced. Parker built their target guns with strict attention to detail, with special chambers, specially bored barrels, and long, special taper chokes, as their reputation was made in the competitive shooter's arena. This Parker, sn234592 built in 1930, is in excellent mechanical condition. The gun is in very nice condition, with 99% factory blue on the 32” barrel choked Improved Modified, barrel tight on hinge and breech face, mirror shiny bore, factory ventilated rib, and double ivory beads. The action retains 60% factory case color, fading but there, excellent screws, a tight lockup with the top lever to the right of center. THE GUN IS AN EJECTOR GUN BUT THE EJECTOR HAS BEEN DISABLED, WHICH IS PREFERRED BY TARGET SHOOTERS WHO RELOAD. IF YOU WANT THE GUN AND THE EJECTORS WORKING, SAY SO AND IT WILL BE DONE. The beautifully figured stock has excellent shooting dimensions, superb hand-rubbed oil finish, superb checkering, and perfect wood-to-metal fit. If you review the photos closely, you can barely detect that the comb of the stock has been raised slightly and so well-done gun guys don’t even notice the work. The gun is priced accordingly. A lot of shooters are unaware that these vintage trap guns are still competitive even when shooting against the most modern weapons. You can go beat your buddies at their favorite traps and do it with an 84-year-old Parker! Also, with the best of patterns and tight chokes, you can cleanly take turkey at distances unheard of with modern guns. The gun weighs 7lbs. 13oz. and balances perfectly ½” ahead of the hinge pin. The stock of the SBT guns are modern dimensions and have a near parallel comb so popular with trap shooters. This greatly reduces the felt recoil while shooting hundreds of rounds of hot trap loads. A great investment quality shotgun you can shoot and enjoy while it increases in value. These guns have stood the test of time and will hold the line with any modern trap gun available, at a very affordable cost to boot! Just think of what the cost of a hand fitted, hand engraved, nicely stocked trap gun costs in today’s world. That makes this Parker a bargain! WE WILL INSTALL A PROPER VINTAGE PAD ON THE GUN FOR YOU WITHIN 10 DAYS OF PURCHASE IF YOU SO WISH. The existing Decelerator pad is an excellent recoil pad and it is fit well. We didn’t do so before listing in order to keep the price of the gun in the “bargain” territory. See specifications below. Thanks for looking!
