In the next 80 years it found its way to Fargo, ND., where it may have lived on a ranch with its Cowboy owner.. I bought it from a Fargo collector/dealer and it came to me in Breckenridge, CO. on March 11, 1981.. Now it is in Redding, CA, patiently waiting for its next owner to cherish its strength and handsome utility. We who own guns are merely their "caretakers" because the guns,when cared for, will outlive us by many lifetimes, marking a time when quality workmanship meant how you earned your living. This 116 year old Colt SAA will still do what its designer intended; perfectly. It is tight and smooth functioning, has all matching numbers and its grips are also numbered to the gun. All the markings are clear and sharp and the rampant Colt is in a full circle on the frame's left side. The bottom of the back-strap indicates ranching use. Using NRA standards for antique guns this Colt will grade VERY GOOD, possibly FINE,and the bore is very good with sharp, clean lands and grooves. Well worth the asking price of $5,450.
