Accessorized, customized and featured in many movies and TV shows, the Desert Eagle Pistol has over the past 25 years attained cult status. This behemoth of a gun, weighing in at about 4 ½ lb, is probably the most powerful semi-auto pistol in production. Built by IWI to MR specs, the MK XIX Series is Gen 3 of the Desert Eagle platform. The most important feature of the XIX line is its modular design, which uses one basic platform for all three available calibers, .50 AE, .357 Mag, and .44 Mag. Kits are available to change calibers or barrel lengths. A prominent accessory rail for easy customization and numerous unique and striking finish patterns have helped cement the DE's status as a pop icon. This specimen, in .44 Rem Mag, has a Bright Nickel finish, no longer cataloged by the company. Its contrasting bright-nickel faces and satin-nickel contours, make it both attractive as well as one of the most durable, well-finished, and powerful combat handguns available.
The Magnum Research Desert Eagle (DE) MK XIX is the latest refinement of the company's iconic design. The basic pistol is single-action, gas-operated, semi-auto .44 Magnum pistol with an 8 round magazine capacity. Using the latest CNC machining technology, Magnum Research / IWI build MK XIX guns to tight tolerances and a precise fit, guaranteeing reliability and accuracy. The grip is specifically tailored for the two-handed shooting required to mange this 4 ½ lb beast.

This gun was originally purchased new in early 2016 by its one and only owner, who fired less than a box of factory ammo before realizing that the gun was not for him. His loss is your gain--the only reason this gun is in NRA (Modern) Good instead of NRA Excellent LNIB condition is because of a few cosmetic blemishes on the external finish, the unfortunate result of putting it up in climate-uncontrolled storage in humid Houston. Internally, although in need of a thorough scrubbing to remove stubborn fouling from hard-to-reach parts of the gas system, the gun is clean and the action shows little wear, consistent with the low-use claim. The bore is 100% - shiny and immaculate. Exterior finish condition is 90%, the main condition points being a few areas of tarnish and corrosion that have worked through the nickel, primarily on the left rear of the slide, mostly on the edges and sharp contours like the racking and slide-catch grooves. Much less prominent are a few widely scattered pinhead-sized freckles of rust on the top and right of the slide behind the ejection port. Similar light freckling occurs on the frame at the front of the trigger guard and in the right-side serial-number cut out, and on the left front of the barrel. There is also seam of rust staining on the base of the rear sight where it enters its dovetail. Except for these points and a few light handling scuffs on the slide's left side, finish is bright and intact--close to 100%. The mag is in Very Good condition with light insertion wear streaks and a seam of rust staining where the body meets the base.
