Stampings include: the single line Hartford address on the top of the 5 ½ inch barrel; “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45” on the left side of the barrel; the two line, three patent dates and Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame; the serial number on the bottom of the frame, the left side of the front and back straps under the grips; “746” inside the loading gate.. The frame is beautifully case colored and the remainder of the metal is highly polished Colt blue. The grips are black plastic with the Rampant Colt and the American Eagle on each. Condition is excellent at 98% with a spot of minor bluing rub under the barrel, minor spotting on sides of hammer and a small manufacturing blemish in the finish just forward of the trigger guard. Faint cylinder drag line. The frame retains the beautiful case colors. The grips are new condition. All stampings are strong and sharp. A great example of the 2ND Generation Colt SAA as a collectible or as a Cowboy Action shooter.
