This gun is in very good condition for its age. This gun is serial# 10712. All of the screws and pins match! The cylinder is free and action seems to work just fine. The original grips have been replaced at some point with some "homemade" grips made of hand carved wood. These look to be very old and probably replaced during the early life of the gun. The gun contains all the original regimental proof marks, kingdom proof marks, and maker proof marks! Highly visible and not damaged! I also have something that many Reich Revolver owners don't......a little history on the gun. Through a lot of research and with the help of several German firearm experts, I can tell you a little about this gun...... The gun was made by Valentin Christoph Schilling and Carl Gottlieb Haenel, of Suhl, Prussia, in 1883. The caliber is 10,55. The gun is marked with a regimental unit mark on the backstrap. This gun is from the Light Munitions Cololum, 1st Batallion of the Royal Sachsen Field Artillery Regiment, weapon number 33. The gun bears the S proof mark on the frame behind the grip which stands for the Kingdom of Saxony. The gun bears the EAGLE of Prussia on the barrel. This was the first proof mark in this time. The gun bears the AR under the CROWN for KING ALBERT of SAXONY. (King and General Field Marshall). The gun bears the E under CROWN for the personal mark of proof inspector. Bottom line this is a very rare historic gun. This will make collector very happy to own, as it has me. All legitimate offers will be considered.
