Similar to its vastly superior Case Toothpick, this Colonial made copy measures 4 ½ inches overall length closed, with a modified California Clip pattern blade that measures just under 3 ½ inches from heel to point. This dime store US made knife dates from the 1950s, perhaps even the late 1940s. Note the plain blue early plastic handles and 40s style period shield ornament on the obverse panel. Marketing name is stamped on the blade tang: Ideal K Co / U.S.A. Closing mechanism, backspring, is excellent and strong; and the blade appears to be 95 percent or so of its original width and length. Blade is a nice gun metal gray, with some original chrome gloss left on the tang. Note the nice Iron appearance of the bolster areas.
