We are offering for sale a vintage STEYR Model 1917 semi-automatic chambered in 9mm. This vintage WWI era pistol does not have a detachable magazine, and instead uses stripper clips. This amazing package comes with (1) original stripper clip and a period Austrian or German ROTH-STEYR Holster marked “Fbr. BXX”.
The gun itself is in superb original condition retaining I would say 90% of its original finish conservatively. The 5” barrel is very good with a clean, somewhat worn barrel showing very good rifling; Light surface wear present. The slide shows some spotty wear; loss but for the majority, looks extremely good. The frame is in similar condition with most wear to front grip strap, where fingers would have rested. The semi-auto action works flawlessly, probably as good as the day it was manufactured. This gun has aged very well. Markings are crisp and clean and have been photographed.
The original WWI era holster is in very nice condition as well. It is, as holsters go, VERY SCARCE in the condition that it is in. The leather does show its age, however is not brittle and has not been repaired or restored. It has a strap that attaches to the rear side that remains very good. The front flap is marked “Fbr. BXX” as mentioned previously. Stitching is very good with no apparent tears or holes. The strap for the stripper clip compartment is slightly damaged and missing bottom half, however it does still close properly.
OVERALL THIS IS AN EXTREMELY SCARCE AND COLLECTIBLE WW1 ERA PACKAGE THAT IS PERFECT FOR ANY SERIOUS COLLECTOR.
