Description: In St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, dead across the Ponchartrain from New Orleans, sits the little town of Covington. It is well populated with gun stores, over a dozen in the immediate area, many of whom have been kind enough to transfer for us and our buyers. In the 1960s, however, that was not quite the case, but Covington was ahead of its time because it had its own Air Gun store, with retired Delta Airlines Captain John J. Frost as Proprietor. Specimen in the photos comes from Mr. Frost’s estate. This is a late 1960s or early 1970s precursor to the excellent Gamo brand of Spanish Air rifles. Trade name is simply, Norica, Model 61, stamped into the top of the receiver. Barrel chamber flat is marked, Made in Spain / Cal. 4.5 [.177], and serial number G15000 range. Caliber is .177. Type is single stroke Break Barrel Piston pneumatic, with an estimated 500 fps velocity output. Construction is all steel, including the trigger guard. Barrel is 19 inch, with hooded blade front sight and windage and elevation adjustable rear sight. Both receiver and barrel are polished blue steel, with receiver grooved for 3/8 inch scope mounts. Stock is unfinished Spanish hardwood with a 1/2 inch original factory buttpad. Length of pull measures 13 3/8 inches from the trigger to the back of the pad, and overall length is 40 3/4 inches. Weight empty is 5 pounds 14 ounces, with the center of gravity 5 inches forward of the trigger, 6 inches back of the forend area tip. Surface detractions on this 61 Norica are minimal, only faint inconspicuous freckling to the blue finish, and the bluing is strong throughout. It is excellent mechanically, it will hold a charge very well overnight; we have test fired it, and the bore is excellent. Replacement pricing on similar current production Gamos ranges upwards of $200 per unit, and they aren’t collectable. This one is not only excellent mechanically and eminently serviceable, it is attractive and collectable as well. We’re offering this Louisiana Norica 61 for only $ 119.00. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
