The Siamese Mauser combines the ’98 cock-on-open action and robust bolt design with the recoil lug-less, narrow and light ’96 stock lines. A simple forward barrel band was taken over the reinforced ’98 style H-band. Lacking manufacturing capability, the new rifle was mostly produced in Japan (with fittings and stocks added in Siam). Here, it would seem, the Siamese Mauser took on some additional features from the Arisaka family of rifles. This specimen appears to be a Type B (type 45/66) Rifle (49 inch length overall). It is in amazing shape, the muzzle is bright and includes the cleaning rod and bayonet.
