Here is a very attractive, 'way above average complete set of 90% Silver Washington Quarter, 1932 through 1964. They are in a moderately worn deluxe grade Whitman Holder that is copyrighted 1960 and whose dates end with the 1964-D. After 1964, Whitman did not bother to delete the extra hole, so our Tennessee collector placed one of his State Quarters in the revers view slot on the final page.
This set has exceptionally high quality keys. The 1932-D has moderate toning but its details put it as an Extremely Fine by our estimate. The 1932-S is a weak strike and may have undergone cleaning, but it is superbly detailed as well, XF grade by our estimate. On the first page of this Whitman book, 1932, 1934, 1934-D, 1935-S, 1936, 1936-D, 1936-S, 1937-S, 1938, 1938-S, 1939-D, 1939-S, and 1940-D have all undergone cleaning but have details in the Fine to Very Fine range by our estimate. 1936, 1937, 1939, and 1940 will all rate Extremely Fine, and 1940 even has Mint luster. Several of the cleaned coins exhibit toning, so that operation was done some years ago. On the second page, 1940-S through 1947-D, the 1940=-S, 1941-S, 1944-D, 1944-S, 1945-D, 1945-S, 1946-S, and 1947 all appear Fine to Very Fine Cleaned, but 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945, 1946, and 1946-D all exhibit XF or better details and even Mint luster. Specimen 1947-S appears VF cleaned at the beginning of the third 1947-S through 1954-S page, and the final 1954-S coin may have been cleaned, although it comes closer to XF. No fewer than 15 of the remaining coins, however, on the third page exhibit mint luster. On the fourth and final page, all coins appear with XF or better details. 1955-D, 1956, 1956-D, 1958 and 1958-D all appear cleaned, however. The remainder show mint luster.
