The 26" octagon barrel has 99.9% original deep, rich blue and clear, sharp barrel markings. The 2 line manufacturer's address and 30 WCF are on the top flat with the Nickel steel barrel marking on the left flat. The receiver has 100 % blue with slight lightening at the carry balance point. The breech bolt and link are also full blue. the hammer and lever have some case color and the magazine tube retains 95% blue. The steel crescent butt plate matches perfectly with the stock and all the wood fits proudly. Never been tampered with. Serial #193567 is an outstanding example of a gun used and well cared for despite being 116 years old (mfrd.1900 AD) . The bore is sharp and clean. The rear tang sight covers the original first style tang markings and the checkered hammer knurling is the old style . The tang sight is the early Marble Gladstone, MI , and the front sight is the rarely seen Beach Combination Globe and Open sight. It meets Flayderman's and NRA standards for grading Antique Arms as Excellent.
