The left side of the barrel is marked with a crown over a crown "U". The serial number is found on the left barrel flat, behind the frame above the grip, and again below the hammer. The number "361" is found on the hammer, the number "5361" is found on the slide pull, along with a crown and "U". The top of the barrel flat. The right side of the frame is marked "Waffenfabrik Mauser / Oberndorf A. Neckar". The bottom of the slide pull has an "S", and a crown with some extended lines below it. The grips are marked with a red "9" and are serialized with the gun. The floor plate is marked "5361" on the inside. Barrel Length: 5 1/2" Sights: The gun is mounted with a fixed front sight, and a slide adjustable rear sight that is calibrated to 500M. Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are wood. There is a 9 carved / burned into each grip (standard). The paint looks like it is in original condition. The grips are otherwise sound with only light marks and depressions. Also they’re serialized to the gun. Type of Finish: Blue Finish Originality: All Original Bore Condition: The rifling is sharp and deep. The bore is bright. There is no apparent erosion. Overall Condition: This gun retains about 70% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows age thinning and some wear. There is wear on the barrel where the finish has gray areas, and some wear to the slide by the magazine. Overall, this gun rates in about Very Good condition. Mechanics: The action functioned perfectly and correctly when I test fired this gun at a local range. Accessories: There is a wooden stock/holster included with this sale (the stock is not original with the gun) and is being included as a conversation piece only. At this point I am unable to determine if it is an original holster, even though it is period correct. The stock is in good condition and is included as a curio.
