Based on research and the low serial number, I believe it is a Smith and Wesson Top-Break Double-Action First Model Revolver .44 Russian caliber manufactured before 1900. It is Nickel Plated, smooth yellow composite grips, 5" Barrel, 1-9/16 cylinder, and rounded front sight. Action is tight, heavy trigger pull, hammer cocks back for single action firing. Has 2 lines on top of barrel with company name and address, patent dates of 1865,1869,1871,1879, and 1880. Serial #10088 on butt, back of cylinder, latch, and back of barrel, all matching. Overall very good condition for its age showing normal signs of wear and some light pitting in grooves along the barrel and cylinder. Buyer pays actual shipping costs.
