Chambered for the .38 Long Colt Cartridge, it shows light signs of holster wear but is still tight and locks up solidly. The finish is the old deep rich Colt blue. The grip panels are hard rubber. The fixed sight sights have a finer groove at the rear of the topstrap tha widens into a deeper groove. As was common with both Colt and S&W at that time, the front sight is a high halfmoon. As with civilian Colts, both the smooth trigger and knurled are the same blue as the frame. The bore of the four inch barrel is excellent. This revolver spent most of its days on a shelf next to the cashbox in a country store in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
