This has a solid rib with two sighting beads. Chambers 2 3/4” shells and features ejectors and a Single Selective Trigger. LOP is 13 3/4”, Drop is 2 1/4” to top of recoil pad and overall length is 46 1/4”. This has a Round Knob with Long Tang grip and a Pachmayr recoil pad. Serial 353xx confirming this is a pre-salt Browning. This French Walnut stock shows light normal use. Stock finish has had surface wear buffed out (rub cut) and fresh application of hard drying hand oil. Receiver has a couple miniature scratches and small spot on the barrel has blue worn off. Bluing on bottom plate has general wear on edges and corners. Bores like new, gun functions perfect. WHAT is "SUPERPOSED" ?? All shotguns were "single shot" until John Moses Browning invented the Auto-5 auto loader (A-5). All double barreled shotguns were side by sides until John Moses came up with the concept of stacking the barrels. This configuration would aid the shooter with maintaining only a single line of sight instead of managing two lines of sight. This would allow the shooter more agility and a high speed reaction time with exponential results. This "super posed" configuration was a super idea, sheer genius, simple. However not so simple to manufacture. To quote Rick Hacker from an article in American rifleman, 8/20/10... "Even though FN’s Superposed was mass-produced, the labor-intensive gun was comprised of more than 70 individual parts and required 155 hand-fitted assemblies, plus the artistry of engravers and woodcarvers.
