This particular variant is the A3 which was adopted during WWII and differed from the WWI version in that it had greater use of stamped parts and a rear aperture sight in order to have commonality with the Garand. In order to expedite war time manufacturing the barrel was later changed to a two groove design. This particular rifle has such a barrel but the bore is bright with sharp rifling and no evidence of corrosion. Overall, this rifle is in great shape with both the woodwork and metal finishes in spectacular condition. The triggerguard shows a minor amount of cosmetic pitting. No box or papers included.
