This rifle has a 20 inch barrel. The bore is shiny with good rifling. I can see two or three very small pits in the middle of the barrel, but the bore is a 9 out of 10 for a gun this age. The date of manufacture is 1875. The rifle has a 4 digit serial number, 72XX. I am not an expert in firearms this old, but I have had two experts look at it and they tell me that the finish on the wood and metal is all original and unaltered. The stock has a few dings, but no cracks or major damage. The metal only has a small amount of original finsh remaining. Everything on the gun works and operates smoothly.
