This rifle is a war trophy brought back by a young Marine Lt. during the Guadelcanal campaign who retired as a Colonel and has since passed on. It has an intact Mum, is in caliber 6.5 Jap. The rifle has seen serious use, but is in the condition one would expect for a rifle captured in the tropics. There is some interesting markings on the upper forearm and stock in the form of 11 to 13 notches carved in it. The Bayonet is not a war trophy, I bought this bayonet at a vendor at a gun show, it is correct though for a type 38 Arisaka. Unfortunately the capture papers are long gone. The story was related to me by the seller. But, as always, Buy the gun and not the story when no paperwork is present.
