Description: Here is a distinctive special run specimen of the rugged and ready SP-101 series revolvers. Manufacturer was Sturm, Ruger & Co., Southport, CT, Plant. From its 0 range serial number, this revolver was manufactured in 1990, but reboxed and resold from the Southport facility in 2006, attest its fired brass case dated 08/11/2006. Construction is entirely stainless, with the exception of its pinned in black anodized ramp front sight and internal springs and buffers. Grips are factory rubber with black polymer insert panels and stainless grip screw. Barrel is 2 1/4 inch one piece full lug, shrouds the ejector rod, with five groove 1:18.75 right hand twist rifling. Cylinder capacity is 5 rounds of .38 Smith & Wesson Special caliber ammunition, and the SP101 has always been strong enough to digest any ammunition from steel case Russian all the way to +P+ Cor-bons. Cylinder lock up is twofold, one strut that embeds itself at the front of the yoke, in addition to the rear face pin lockup. Trigger is .310 smooth faced combat type, double action only. The hammer does not stand in a cocked position. Hammer is a unique configuration .310, with a Commander type spur that will retain in a strap type holster without snagging. All Ruger revolvers are equipped with a transfer bar internal safety, that separates the hammer face from the floating firing pin unless the trigger is fully depressed. Weight empty is 25 ounces, with center of gravity at the rear cylinder face. Surface detractions are minimal to moderate, principally light scouring on the lower grip panels, and a half dozen tiny pecks on the forward area of the trigger guard. Cylinder rotation marking is minimal. We rate this SP-101 as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, 85 to 90 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Trigger pull is smooth and consistent, 12 pound vicinity. Hammer travels an additional 15 to 20 degrees on all five positions after the cylinder times into plate. Lateral play to the cylinder is negligible with the trigger relaxed; with the trigger fully depressed, however, there is no lateral play whatsoever. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .006. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is negligible, only carbon blacking. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this revolver has been fired fewer than 300 times. It is in its factory reissue gray plastic box with correct labeling, instruction manual, Ruger advertising brochure, fired brass envelope, and a never executed factory registration card. This revolver is one of only a few that one of our friendly competitors sold in the previous decade. Story is, that it was a special run made to specs for the US State Department. DOS suffix on the box’s letter model designation supports that story, and there were indeed some terrorist attacks on US Embassies in 1990 with perhaps this variant filling a niche for their security. We’re offering the distinctive Ruger SP-101, KSP-821DOS specimen in the photos for only $ 459.00. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
