These were contract manufactured by Nikko on the Golden Eagle design, for Mistral (history unknown) in the late 1970’s; reportedly only 50 such guns were made. 26” barrel, bright polished blue, Williams open sights, drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Walnut monte carlo stock with cheekpiece, matte oil finish, 14 15/16” LOP over 1” Golden Eagle recoil pad, Golden Eagle head in plastic pistol grip cap, 20 LPI Skipline checkering, sling studs. Here’s the kicker: All Golden Eagle rifles had a patent number marked, which is erroneous, as it refers to a set trigger mechanism, which those rifles never had. This one HAS the set trigger.
