This unit accurately locates all of the drilling holes as well as depicts the specifics of the M16 fire control pocket layouts. The entire 80% completion process may be easily done with only a drill press and Dremel tool for those who do not have access to a milling machine. This jig was designed to meet the needs of those desiring a fully functioning finishing jig without all the extra items and assembly tools included with my AR PRO jig. The accuracy of this jig is on a par with my AR PRO as well as my AR mini conversion jigs as shown in the photos. This kit has M16-only top plates (1 milling and 1 drilling) since the fire control pocket shape makes no difference with regards to function of either semi or full versions. A reversible insert (with an additional drilling bushing) is included for the drilling of the trigger slot from the bottom (80% forgings only-without permanent trigger guard). As should be evident from the photos and videos included here, much time was spent on details in the design and manufacture of these jigs as well as creating the very detailed 21-page jig usage instructions with color 3D cutaway CAD drawings which include all listed (.001”) measurements which are sent via email upon shipping confirmation after the sale. Hardened steel drilling bushings have been inserted into the sideplates for the hammer pin, trigger pin, auto-sear, as well as the fire select switch and trigger for long-term reuse (patent pending). In addition, while the other Class II conversion jigs only attempt to layout just one hole; these additional features are also incorporated into this kit to accurately mark both holes on both sides as well as include the top (select-fire) milling template along with denoting the 3 unique depths of the auto-fire control pocket on the jig’s sides. No other jig kit has anything remotely similar to these features. Also included in these instructions are the little known and rarely disclosed armorers’ techniques regarding the bolt/auto-sear release “timing” measurements which are done with a feeler gauge through the magazine well. Pictures shown were done with some brass tubing to prove my products’ accuracy with a factory-produced Law Enforcement / Government Use Only select-fire lower. Note the protrusions pass completely through both jig sideplates as well as all fire control holes. Jig/template assemblies and all parts in the photos are included (lower receivers and/or lower receiver parts kits and tools are not included).
