Manufacturer Date: Based on the serial number, this firearm was produced in 1918.
Condition: As with any 1911 of this date range, the finish is worn. The grips are in great condition; only a few extremely small wear spots. Appears to what may be some pitting on the frame (please see pictures). No rust noted on the firearm or in the bore, except for a very small area around the screw inside the trigger. Maybe a little minor pitting in the bore. Some holster scuffing on the frame. The bore is very bright and shiny. Someone obviously took very good care of it. Mechanically, it appears to work flawlessly. I stripped, cleaned and oiled it and noted no rust during this process.
Markings: On the bottom of the magazine the "Colt Logo" is stamped along with "COLT 45 AUTO" and above that appears to be stamped the letter "M". The right side of the frame is stamped, "No 458465" and under that is stamped what appears to be "RIA". On the slide is stamped, "Model of 1911 U.S. Army". On the left side, the "Colt Logo" is stamped at the rear of the slide. On the frame (right under the slide towards the muzzle) is stamped, "United States Property". Above that on the slide is stamped, "PATENTED APR 20.1897". Under that is stamped, "SEPT 9.1902. DECE 19.1905.FEB 14.1911". To the right of that is stamped, "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG CO.". Below that is stamped, "HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.".

If buyer decides to return the firearm, buyer must contact me by phone within three days of picking up the firearm from the receiving FFL dealer. Buyer will be responsible for return shipping costs, including insurance up to the full sales price of the firearm. Once I receive the firearm, I will refund the buyer's account within two business days.
