Consisting of a C-series 1851 Navy and a Third Model Dragoon these percussion Colts are master-engraved, probably undertaken by Leonard Francolini, Alvin White, Denise Thirion and other first-class engravers working at the Colt Custom Gun Shop. Both revolvers feature a "C" Series "Royal Blue" barrel and cylinder with a case hardened frame, loading lever, plunger and hammer. Each revolver is class "C" master engraved, has gold inlaid frame border and barrel bands, and two-piece ivory grips with gold Colt medallions. Both sides of each hammer are engraved with a wolf’s head design. There is a gold band inlaid at the muzzle and rear of the barrel, a gold wire inlaid border around the outside of the frame and "1 of 50" is inlaid in gold on the right side of the frames. The revolvers are still in factory mint condition with unmarred 100% original finish. The cylinders are unturned and the fitted presentation case still smells new. The only flaw is a scratch on the brass plaque on the lid. Alone an engraved, extensively gold inlaid C-series Dragoon or 1851 Navy would cost $2500.00 each in today’s terms. Here are two gold-inlaid revolvers complete with a correct powder flask each, a correct caliber bullet mold each, cap tins and nipple wrenches and a well-made case.
