Description: Here is the all time winner in the lightweight autoloader contest, the Franchi 48AL Hunter shotgun. From its BP Italian Date Code, it was manufactured in 2001. Receiver and finishing manufacturer was Llama Gabilondo y Cia, S.A., of Vitoria, Spain. Barrel and parts manufacturer was Luigi Franchi, s.p.a., of Brescia, Italy. It is import stamped on its barrel’s under side by Century Arms. Type is John M. Browning design recoil operated semi automatic shotgun. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch shells only, with adjustable friction ring mechanism for light to high powered shells. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, and internal parts all assembled into a lightweight alloy receiver group. Barrel is 25 1/2 inch, nominally 26 inch with .698 Modified muzzle diameter. The barrel is Not designed for steel shot. Outside muzzle diameter is .820, and wall thickness gauges .062 at the muzzle, so this barrel should accept choke tube installation. Sight system is 13 post, .265 serrated top ventilated rib with brass bead front sight and serrated top receiver rear. Magazine tube holds 4 rounds of 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge shotshells, so 4 + 1 fully loaded capacity with no magazine adapter or plug. Mag spring retention is by a Remington type friction split ring retainer. Safety is guard mounted push button type, behind the .235 smooth faced steel trigger. Weight empty is 6 pounds 11 ounces, with center of gravity at the breech face. Overall length is 45 3/4 inches. Barrel finish is polished surface blued steel, with machine engraved white lateral, gloss black anodized upper receiver. Buttstock and forend are plain oil finish Italian Walnut, fluted forend and pistol grip type buttstock. Note the factory 1 inch permanent sling swivels on the mag cap and buttstock. Stock drop is the standard 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch, with a 14 1/4 inch length of pull from the trigger face to the end of the factory butt plate. Surface detractions are moderate: finish wear to the trigger guard, contact streaks on the receiver, lateral scouring on the wood, and some weathering on the buttstock where the owner used a slip on recoil pad. We recommend professionally installed Pachmayr Decelerator pads for Franchis. We rate this Franchi as Very Good, 75 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. From the moderate wear to the shell carrier, we estimate this Franchi has been fired fewer than 1,000 rounds. Replacement pricing on this shotgun's nearest desendant, the Franchi Fenice, is upwards of $1500.00. We're offering the 2001 production Spanish / Italian Franchi in the photos, however, for only $ 459.00. 2% discount if payment is with USPS Money Order & not Credit Card. Any ammunition or personnel in photos are Not included.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
