This was the personal Colt of Dr. Martin (Marty) Jack Rosenblum., Phd. He was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast as well as their historian, having a significant role in the establishment of the Harley-Davidson Museum in 2008. He was also a musician, song writer and poet, graduated from the University of Wisconsin (Milwaukee) and serving as Professor on staff known as "Rock and Roll Professor" and Holy Ranger, with a Doctorate in English, but teaching music history courses and establishing a Rock and Roll Certificate Program there. A quote from the August 11, 1989 Milwaukee Sentinel: "...It's easy to see that in his crowded but impeccably organized Sherwood home office, where Colt firearms, Gibson guitars and Harley memorabilia share space with a traditional poetic library...". The Colt itself shows about 98% original finish with custom, after market ivory grips, and is cased in a rarely found, understated, black, locking presentation case. Included are a little background on the owner and a letter of authentication from Colt's. The back strap is engraved "Dr. Martin Jack Rosenblum" and the barrel stampings and back strap engraving are gold washed. This gun was shipped to Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, in the summer of 1970 (serial #56243SA), and we obtained it from a Pewaukee, Wisconsin, dealer. So the gun probably never left Dr. Rosenblum's possession in life except for a trip back to Colt's for engraving 31 years after it's purchase. It is the exceptional gun of an exceptional man.
