We haven't sold many of the fine little Russian Makarov pistols since the early 1990s, but this is a nice one that came to us by way of the Texas Department of Safety, when its owner was in the wrong place at the wrong time in the wrong condition. As the photos show, it has been fired and carried very little. It is as minty as any of the mint ones we got 10-12 years ago. There is some weakness on the sides of the slide, as the photos show. This IJ-70 is a KBI Import, manufactured by Russia's premiere arms maker, Baikal. Clip body shows minimal insertion and ejection wear, and it is perfect mechanically in every way. This one has fully adjustable rear sight, and decocker safety. Ammunition, of course, is 9x18 Makarov, perhaps the second most plentiful round in the world behind the 9mm Parabellum, and it's only 1 mm shorter than the Luger Round, more powerful than the .380.
