CDI Swan VT. MOD44 7.62X54R Made in Poland stamped on left side of receiver. Their import stamps are very small and nicely done. I tried to take a pic of the small stamping but it is tough to see on the rifle. Classic Distributors Inc. in Swanton Vt. are apparently no longer in business. From some more research I found most of these 1950's Polish made Model 44's were manufactured for import only so they would be in this unfired condition. Mirror bore, deep Blued metal is 98% with some small light freckling on top of the front band and some light rust spots on the upper half of the butt plate. The follower in the mag doesn't have a mark on it. Serial numbers match on receiver ring, bolt, bottom of floor plate, and butt plate. Cleaning rod looks new. Bayonet is perfect. This 1955 model has the "protector ears" on the bayonet mount. The wood has a few rub marks and a small pressure ding on the bottom of the stock about half way between the butt and the sling. Web sling attached. Overall this looks like an unfired rifle with great metal and wood. I will gladly send more close up pics to any interested parties.
