Old stock new condition. Never fired. This rifle was purchased new by my father and displayed on the wall of his study. John Wayne medallion embedded in right side of stock. Heavy engraving on both sides of receiver and upper tang. The engraving on the left side of the receiver depicts a stagecoach being pulled by 6 horses. Completely around the border of the scene are the names of some of John Wayne's movies. The engraving on the right side of the receiver depicts a cattle drive scene. Completely around the border of the scene are the names of additional John Wayne movies. The engraving on the upper tang is John Wayne's signature. Includes saddle ring, large lever loop and deep cut checkering. High grade genuine American walnut stock and forearm. Richly blued barrel. Right side of barrel is inscribed "John Wayne Commemorative" in gold letters. Manufactured in 1981. Only 49,000 were made. This is among the most collected of all commemorative firearms. Overall length = 36". Barrel length = 18". Serial number JW44874. Serial number range JW1 - JW49000. Original box and papers are not available.
