Type is traditional double and single action, hammer fired, locked breech semi automatic pistol. Barrel is 3.9 inches with 6 groove right hand 1:10 rifling. Sight system is dovetailed 3 white dot type, drift adjustable only for windage, but all Sigs are point of aim from the factory. Trigger is .350 MIM Steel smooth face, pulls double action at 11 pounds vicinity, with a 5 pound single action pull that has minimal to moderate felt creep and overtravel. The P229 has a decocking lever and a firing pin safety. It does not have and does not need any lock safety. Caliber is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Capacity is 13+1 rounds, and this pistol is furnished with a total of two new factory matte blue steel 13 round magazines. Weight empty is 32.5 oz; overall length 7.10 inches; height 5.1 inches; maximum width 1.5 inches; 5.7 inch sight radius. Slide and parts are non-glare Black Nitron finish stainless steel, with matching black Nitron anodized frame.
