With Saddle ring, Ser # 4XX. This carbine was manufactured in Farmingdale NY, at the first factory site of 37 Potter st. in 1972 and is in Exellent+ condition. Clean, Shiny Bore. All of the Case harding is present and like new on the receiver. Barrel band, buttplate and lever show case harding. Bluing on the barrel is 98+ % It appears to have been fired very very little. The action is nice and tight. There is a slight depression on the right side of the stock just above the rear portion of the lock and a very slight mark on the right side of the receiver possibly from moisture in handling over the years. The production of Sharps rifles in Farmingdale NY began in 1972 with Ser. #200 and ran through 1984 with Ser. # 6999. After which the company moved to Big Timber, Montana and the first rifle was produced in January of 1984,then split shortly after to C. Sharps and Shiloh Sharps just down the road. Information concerning the early Sharps rifles from Farmingdale a a bit hard to come by as there was a fire at the factory. This Carbine comes with these new items; Powder Flask with 3 different charge tubes, Capper, Xtra Nipple, Nipple Wrench, Box of .54 Cal Bullets,SPG Lube, Musket caps, Nitrate Paper (roller tubes & instructions)and rifle case.
