It is chambered for the powerful .45 ACP cartridge (and with the purchase of special springs, the stronger .45 Super), making it a favorite of law enforcement officers and private citizens alike. This is a transition 4506 to 4506-1 modified version. It is factory stamped as 4506, but it has the later version features - a change to the slide manufacturing process; the trigger guard change from square to round; the hammer and trigger change to blued, and the S&W roll marks drop in favor of laser etching. It has the capacity of 8 (in clip) + 1 (in chamber). This sale includes two (2) factory original clips for a smooth, single-stack feed. It also includes a spare (optional) spring. It is constructed almost entirely from stainless steel and is thus extremely resistant to harsh weather conditions. It is a traditional double-action pistol - a real thing for self-defense or serious concealed carry. It features factory sights with an adjustable (elevation) rear sight, double/single action with safety/decocker, 5" barrel, steel frame and slide.
