The production of rifles was all being issued to the Army units and the Japanese Imperial Navy was forced to look for additional sources of rifles to meet their needs. Approximately 60,000 rifles were produced under the Italian contract and this one would be approximately mid production with a F prefix in the serial number. Production ran from letters A through N. The wood and metal finish is very good as well as the bore. A great addition to a Japanese military rifle collection. Please see pictures.
