This is Very Good and Rare Quality "ALFA" Spanish Version of Smith & Wesson Military & Police Model Revolver made by Armero Especialistas in Eibar Spain sometime during the 1920’s, U.S Service Ctg. There is a MFG. symbol under frame handles, and the "ALFA TRADE MARK" on the side of the Revolver. The barrel displays following markings, "32 W.C.F. Ctg." and "Use U.S. Standard Ammunition". Six Chamber Cylinder, Double Action and all matching parts (#487) and the Serial# is (38772). CONDITION: Very good, with 90% of original Nickel finish on the metal. Good bore and rifling. Good Quality Spanish Revolver Cal. 32, Barrel 5.25” Long. The original wood handles have been replaced with REAL "Mother of Peal Handles” from the around the same era. “I was told that the "MOP Handles" are worth as much as the price of the pistol alone. In addition, I've had dealers tell me the MOP Handles can be easily be use on the same size frame for S&W… (I think its K frame). Everything seems to function just fine and locks up ok, but the cylinder freely rotates clockwise when the action is closed. (I have heard that some of these were designed this way, however I am NOT an expert in these old S&W copies, so you can be the judge of that). I have not fired this weapon being that I only collect older firearms and shoot modern ones. Other than that, It's in pretty good shape and would make a great clean-up project. There is very slight pitting and very light rust and the normal wear on the finish for these old revolvers. The grips are in great shape with minimal wear and scratches. These “Eibars” are part of the latest and most affordable of “New Collectors Trends” and this Alfa Revolver with all the cool features, and all it’s history, is a nice peace to start your collection.

History: The Eibar is almost exclusive to Spain. Due to the virtually nonexistent patent laws in Spain in the early 20th century, scores of Spanish firearms makers produced copies of the S&W, Browning M-1903 and M-1906, and these copies are collectively known as “Eibars.” Most of these gun makers built the Eibars in response to the needs of the French and Italian armies during World War 1, but production went on until the Spanish Civil War. The Eibars will have the same basic design, but may vary wildly in finish, materials, quality, and other details.
