John Kopec authenticated this gun, for me, as having been shipped on July 11, 1901 to Wyeth Hdw. & Mfg. in St. Joseph, MO.. It is in good condition and mechanically very good and locks up tight. It is a fine shooter and collectable as well. All the markings are clear and sharp. The left side of the barrel has 32 W.C.F. and the top of the barrel has the 2 line Hartford address followed by the witness mark. There is original blue in protected places and some original case colors. The patent date stamps are good and so is the Colt in a circle.. There is some blue on the trigger guard, barrel, ejector rod housing, cylinder flutes. It is an honest gun that was used but not abused. The excellent original grips are numbered to the gun and all of the serial numbers match. I've owned it for almost 70 years and have shot it - it shoots good .
