The full NICKEL plate was a rare varient produced only in the years 1924 through 1927. Serial number is 480733. The pistol shows normal wear from use. I do not grade the the finish, so look at the photos carefully and ASK questions. This pistol sports the original plating which, even though not perfect, retains a better value than if it had been replated. Lock up is excellent and there are no issues with timing. The COLT 'lock-up' is perfect. This is a very shootable pistol and mechanically fine for shooting. Barrel is a very 'all occasion' length of 5" and shows normal use with NO pitting inside. The nickel finish has held up very well as photos indicate. Original Walnut checkered COLT grips. This is a fine old COLT and a fun pistol to have. Here is your opportunity to a pre-war piece of U.S. history. Condition Details: The Nickel is bright and has been polished out quite nicely. No unsightly scratches or gouges in the finish, just the general or usual wear that would be expected. Overall very clean and good to look at. The Nickel Plate shows very minute swirl marks from the years of cleaning and maintaining. *Note: On three cylinder flutes, under the trigger and a couple spots on the trigger guard., plate has 'break spots'. No place is the plate 'flaking'. Two other areas that need mentioned; the barrel blade sight which appears to have been slightly crimped at some point. This is cosmetic and does not affect the sighting. Underneath the left walnut grip shows a grain spilt that has been glued and clamped closed. You may request specific photos of any area.
