Serial number 9862 features a 23.5-inch barrel with banded front sight ramp with blade and banded rear sight with two serrated leafs (one fixed and one folder), straight bolt handle and double set triggers. The half stock has wrap-around checkering on the forearm and a cheekpiece. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.6 pounds (with scope) and length-of-pull is 14 inches. MARKINGS: The serial number appears on the barrel, action and inside of the stock. "270" appears on the inside of the floorplate and "52" shows on both barrel and action. No import markings are apparent. CONDITION: The bore is pristine and the triggers operate properly. Metal finish is about 98 percent, the only exception being the forward sling loop (some thinning and light pitting, no doubt from a sling). Wood finish is at least 98 percent and wood condition is about 97 percent, with a scattering of minor handling and field impressions, along with a tiny chip at the left rear corner at the floorplate and a very small dark spot centered on the heel of the butt at the plate. SCOPE: A vintage Bausch & Lomb Balvar 8A 2.5-8x with tapered reticle rides in an adjustable Kuharsky Brothers base (two attachment screws on left rear of the receiver and two centered on the front ring).
