Accepted Payment Methods: Returns: No Returns Description: This is as can be seen a Remington Model 742 30-06 Carbine, Yes Carbine. This old girl has seen some use, as the stock has makings of what I would guess is from riding uncased behind the seat of a pickup. But again just a Guess. The included Barska scope is a 3-9X40 and is new and Bore sighted. I have run two mags through it, eight rounds total and all ran perfect, with no sign of issue. The inner rails have been inspected by a third generation gun smith and he stated that all looks good. some wear is to be expected but none of the wear seen is Excessive. He added that the 742 got a bad rap by Guys that load there own shells, Stating, most of the issue comes from the few Guys that think Because the 30-06 round can fit more powder than the recipe calls for, that it should be fine to put more in the shell (WRONG). Now the bluing is 80% or better, There is NO rust or pitting, There are no signs it has been re-blued, the wood too I would say is untouched. I don't know How rare these Carbines are, But I sure enjoyed shooting this 30-06 with it's low auto recoil. I do have more pictures of this gun and can email them.
