The lands are very strong throughout from our inspection with our bore prism-mirror. Since the lands are what does the bullet good on its way out the barrel, we rate this CVA Sharpshooter .50 caliber as Very Good. Finishwise, the photos show the most-affected finish area by weathering, the left side of the stock. Stock finish is affected on about 30 percent of its area, by our estimate, by light finish peeling or pecking or scratching. Exterior area of the barrel and lock have, by our estimate, about 80 percent of their bluing remaining. Mechanical function is excellent. To the best of our knowledge, this CVA was probably manufactured in Spain in the late 1980s or early 1990s, and probably has slow-twist rifling in its 26 inch barrel, no faster than 1:48 and probably 1:52 or 1:60. So it is likely a round ball rifle anyway, and these rifles have always performed well for accuracy in our experience.
